We were married on  September 1, 1990.  Debbie grew up in Shorewood, Wisconsin and Steve is from New Richmond, Wisconsin.  We moved to Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin in 1996 where we raised our family. We have four grown children, Katelynn, Olivia (Josh), Mackinzie (Megan), and Eliza.

 

We have been involved in missions since 2007 when Debbie took her first trip to Turkey.  She went a second time in 2008.  In 2009, our family spent Christmas break in Haiti, returning home days before the earthquake in January 2010.  Debbie co-led six teams to Haiti within the next two years due to the earthquake.  From 2012-2015, we worked together with an organization that has a ministry in Liberia, West Africa.  Steve worked as a bookkeeper and Debbie was the Office Administrator.  Debbie was blessed to lead three short-term teams to Liberia.

 

In 2015, we attended a 15-week Perspectives course to seek God's calling on the next chapter of our lives.  Little did we know He was calling us to Uganda, East Africa.  After visiting Uganda for a month in 2016 & 2017, we are happy to call Jinja Uganda home since February 2018.
